The 2nd photo we forced this guy to take, because he screwed the first one up. Our first trip to Wrigley. June, 2011.

I feel like she will hate this one, but I smile every time. Goofing around on my birthday. March, 2011.

21.

photo

In my Flickr account, this one is titled “Kel-mo” which I find very funny. This was at the outlet mall in Albertville, I remember she did NOT want to do this and I made her. Not sure on the month, early fall 2009.

My birthday. March 2009.

19.

photo

My 30th birthday, at the after party. Possibly (probably) the only picture in existence where *I* look hammered and she does not. March, 2009.

18.

My 21st birthday at Benson’s Bar. We’re both finally legal. And so very, very young. March, 2000.

I think this is also from my 30th birthday, as Kelly picked me up to go the Cherokee for my birthday dinnner? March, 2009.

15. *WARNING: NKOTB MONTAGE AHEAD*

photo

Über-fan. No doubt about it, she is the #1. August, 2008.

14.

photo

Showing her autographs, debuting my Sharpie (a gift from Donnie Wahlberg) and my half-eaten granola bar (a “gift” from Danny Wood). August, 2008.

Right before the concert. October, 2008.

This one makes me laugh. We’re celebrating that we’re NKOTB fans AND that we’re old enough to drink! August, 2008.

11.

This is MY favorite picture from Chicago. I don’t think Kel likes it as much as I do. June, 2011.

10.

My high school graduation party. I love how young we look. June, 1997.

9.

photo

Oh, the pageant. We did a beauty pageant together. She remains the only person in the world who could convince me to do something like that. Summer, 1997. (and I have no idea about the clown…)

8.

photo

As far as I know, the only picture of the three of us in existence. This was the night they took me out to dinner to celebrate my FT library job! Hooray! And I’m a lucky girl to have such good friends. Also, the service was awful that night, which kind of made the whole thing more fun. April, 2010.

7.

photo

Kelly on a pony. This picture is terrific. I love the look on her face. This was at V’s first farm party. May, 2009.

6.

photo

No one else will ever believe us… June, 2011.

5.

photo

Christian Kane concert, where I met him. Huge good friend points that night. January, 2011.

4.

photo

Not the greatest photo, but it is the oldest photo that I know of, with both of us. My 6th grade birthday party, we went to a salon and got makeovers. I’m in the center…black sweater with stripes…and that “awesome” hairdo that I just had professionally done. Kelly is in the turquoise and pink jacket. She got her hair french braided and it was dark on the sides but the braid itself is blond…like a skunk. Somewhere, there is a picture of that braid. March, 1991.

photo

From the date on the photo, I’m going with my 19th birthday…we would have been freshmen in college that year. And I used to LOVE that sweatshirt I am wearing. But I just love how cute this picture is! March, 1998. (Kel, don’t we ever take pictures together on YOUR birthdays???)

2.

photo

These last two are a toss-up. I’d have probably ranked this as #1, but I KNOW Kelly will think the other one is #1 and it is HER birthday, so…. this was a random snapshot, taken by Sonya, at Simon’s 4th bday party. I adore this photo. April, 2011.

There is no doubt this is a good photo. I didn’t know it was possible for two people to look so happy. We had just met the New Kids on the Block, in person, for the first time in our lives, after more than 20 years being fans. Her shirt is signed, our passes are signed and I got the Sharpie from Donnie Wahlberg. We made a stranger take this before we even talked and told each other our stories. I think Kelly was still shaking. It was an incredible experience and it shows in the picture. August, 2008.

My 33 favorite Kelly pictures. Happy Birthday, friend.

  1. What a wonderful pictorial birthday tribute to Kelly Jo and your long standing friendship! I enjoyed it. Hope you are having a great birthday Kelly!
A little side note Livi: In picture #9, (the one with the clown), you look exactly like Grandma Conway when she was young…BEAUTIFUL!

    • Oh, thank you, Mom! What an amazing thing to say. I’ve never felt I looked like her at all, that was really sweet. I’ve always thought I look exactly like you….BEAUTIFUL!

  2. Wow, that’s the BEST blog ever. I toss that term around often, so now I can’t use it anymore because THAT IS THE BEST BLOG EVER!!! Very very cool. Thanks so much!!

    • Well, I can’t say I’m surprised. Of course you would like a photo montage…of YOU. But, it was fun. You should see the 27 photos that didn’t make the cut! I don’t have too many people for whom I could do that. I just don’t have that many pictures of most people. Lucky you, right!

I will admit I will be a little shocked if you never again say something is the best blog ever…
